PASTOR'S NOTE

So Far, So Great!

A month under our belt, and by all accounts, our two services have been a success.

And for that, we simply and humbly praise Jesus for His blessings and favor.  In a day and age where economies are failing and churches are languishing, we have been given the opportunity to grow the Kingdom.

Over the last several months, we have fasted and prayed for the Holy Spirit to direct us and guide us into the Father’s perfect will.  We believe we have listened as well as human ears can hear.

We’ve also heard from you, our church family, some comments that have been helpful in our continuing efforts to monitor and tweak our worship experiences.  Here’s a sampling of your hearts:

“I was really touched by the liturgy of communion this morning.  It was very special.”  --  a man who attends the 8:30 a.m. service.

“We are just loving the music and the songs.  We are being blessed each morning.”  --  a couple who attends the 11 a.m. service.

“(In tears) . . . the Holy Spirit was so powerful this morning.  Wow!  What an incredible feeling.”  --  a woman who attends the 8:30 a.m. service.

“Can you feel that?  The Holy Spirit is on fire in here today!”  --  three different people when walking in the Fellowship Hall at the end of the 8:30 a.m. service to attend Sunday School.

“I have to admit, I was against it at first, but I was wrong.  This is great!”  --  a woman who attends the 8:30 a.m. service.

“Thank you for offering the later service.  We’re loving the style and the worship, and it’s so good to sleep in a little!”  --  a couple who attends the 11 a.m. service.

“It’s early!”  --  a man who attends the 8:30 a.m. service.  (Amen, brother!  But we’ll get used to it.  And, hey, it’s pretty Biblical to be up “early in the morning to meet the Lord.”)

“I just love it!  I can’t think of anything better than being in church from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m.”  --  a member of our youth group who attends both services.

Obviously, we’re only three weeks into this pilot, but let me share some numbers with you.  Our attendance has steadily increased from 177, 178 and 186 over the last three weeks.  Our Sunday School attendance saw an increase of about 10 more people over the first couple of weeks thus far.  And our financial giving has continued to be healthy.  Again, all this is due to God’s incredible favor, and we praise Him for it.

The Worship Committee continues to be in prayer and fasting as we want to constantly hear what the Holy Spirit is telling us.  And we will be meeting again in November to see what more we can do to make our worship experiences here truly an encounter with the Living God!

For now, I, as your pastor, want to thank you so much for being willing to take a step of faith and grow, not only this church, but His Kingdom.  And may we all be blessed as we keep inviting others to a place called Pfrimmer’s Chapel  --  at either 8:30 a.m. or 11 a.m.!
